“Kids” is a song about self reflection from an artist’s perspective. It depicts a variety of scenarios you encounter as an artist. Self doubt, self confidence, self worth. You question whether the people around you genuinely believe in what you are doing or if it’s more just a fad that will pass. As an artist you have to realize that it is OK to let go of the things or people that hold you back because at the end of the day you do what you do because YOU love to do it. You do it for yourself and won’t change that for anybody. The song is titled “Kids” because as kids Indigo Young didn’t worry about what others thought. Unlike adults, as kids they had the ability to be themselves without fear of judgement or worry about the future.
