Based in Las Vegas and native to South-Central Los Angeles, Double R is a paragon of urban artistry in the 21st Century. His versatile music and all-consuming stage presence showcase every facet of his passionate and playful personality with unapologetic honesty. With influences rooted in neo-soul, hip-hop, rock, dancehall, and reggae, his rangy, emotional, rhythmic melodies are often combined with his lyrically-abstract rap style to create his uniquely-cultured sound, which varies refreshingly from song to song. His unparalleled vocal style balances the milky-smooth crooning of ballads and the rough warbling of jazz, fusing together to breathe fresh life into every note and lyric.
Double R’s years of musical development have strengthened him as both a performer and a songwriter. In the never-ending process of honing his craft, he has worked with a wide array of artists like former-Disney-star-turned-rapper, Kyle Massey, the French twin-brother dancing sensations, Les Twins, and the country music star, Zac Brown. Double R also had several of his own projects and collaborations unofficially released, including a “skater” alternative-pop album titled USDLA Organic, and a self-titled R&B/pop album, Double. Now comes his first official single, “Good Day”, the first release of many monumental songs scheduled to arrive in the near future.
“Good Day” is inspired by Ice Cube’s “It Was A Good Day.” The light and joyful piano is accompanied by hard-hitting drums to create very energetic music. Double R’s positivity and rhymes bounce through a day in his life in this pop/hip-hop single.
