In the height of the 2016 Presidential elections America and the world was moving at a steady pace in the wrong direction. From the rise of unprecedented hatred being displayed in everyday public life and the continuous mistreatment of African Americans at the hands of law enforcement agencies. Change was inspired by true events all across the world. Specifically the deaths of Walter Scott, Eric Garner and Tamir Rice. The Flint water crisis and well documented economic crisis in Detroit. Boko Haram’s Violent campaign on Nigeria, it’s citizens and neighbors. The song calls for change, a change that last forever. The type of change that denounces demagogues and strengthens our unity even with our differences. A change that educates us to see ourselves as not just Black White or Brown but as Americans.
