It touches on a nerve of the church that has been taboo for so long, the feeling of distrust and disenchantment that occur when one feels wronged by the church, often referred to as, “church hurt.” Many people have tried to stop the release and rewrite the song, stating that it will bring more damage and harm to the church than good. Despite the outcry, Christopher Tate releases this single with hopes that it will help heal the wounds within the church by bringing them into the open, and thus bring people back together.
