Jordan Hayes (HAZE) is a Lake Worth, FL native, who wrote his first hip-hop song in the 9th grade. However, hip-hop wasn’t always his focus. HAZE was an accomplished middle school and high school basketball player in his formative years. Although he was developing his hip-hop talents while in school, things didn’t go full throttle until he partnered with longtime friend and producer MONDO to publish his first album “Versetility” in August 2018. With a string of singles and album behind him, he started gaining notable buzz with the release of debut album Versetility in August 2018, which he soon followed up with a debut single, Sit Down, in December 2018. The long list of singles and the strong album release gained him new fans, and he’s now on his way to becoming a notable new hip-hop artist.
HAZE seems to effortlessly create smooth, melodic hip hop party songs…and…his new release, “If I Want To”, is just another from this new upstart singer/rapper. HAZE’s writing, rapping and singing style comes through on the new track where he displays his penchant for clever bars and sing along choruses. The track, produced by MONDO (longtime HAZE friend and producer) is comprised of a soft harp sounding synth and a booming bass, leaving lots of breathing room on the beat for HAZE to go off. HAZE’s chorus sounds like something hes done before, but that doesn’t take away from the catchiness of it. Sing along flows and stop and go structures are creatively managed by HAZE on this single, which will be a favorite for the upcoming Summer of 2019.
