Swept away in a creative whirlwind, UK Pop band Friends Like These is making feel-good, energetic music with a bold, modern sound. The last two years of writing and performing together have helped develop and hone their musical style based on their eclectic influences.
Formed in 2015, Friends Like These forged their friendship and musical collaboration under the name Outlander, when the four guys joined forces, writing, performing at every opportunity, while some of them attended university. The 5-piece line up was completed when female drummer, Lowri joined the four multi-instrumentalist companions, Ali, Alex, Brian & David in 2016.
Their musicianship and engaging presence are apparent in their refined and precise live performances which have seen them perform alongside artists from a variety of different genres, including Jools Holland and His Rhythm & Blues Orchestra, Alison Moyet, We Are Scientists, and Buzzcocks. In 2016 the band also had the privilege of opening for British Pop/Soul legends and ‘Stars’ hitmakers Simply Red on their Big Love Stadium Tour at the Emirates International Stadium.
As well as being a polished live act, Friends Like These also shine in the studio; writing, recording, producing and mixing all of their own music. Their music captures everything across the spectrum of contemporary music, from the stripped-back, heartfelt songs with big harmonies, to songs with undeniable groove and melody.
